Our 14-day promise
If you purchase an Academy membership directly from us and decide it is not right for you, you may request a full refund of your initial membership payment within 14 calendar days. You do not need to give a reason.
1. Scope
This policy applies to paid memberships purchased directly through the Human Rights Careers Academy website. It explains our commercial refund promise and the statutory right of withdrawal available to consumers in the European Union and European Economic Area.
2. Fourteen-day refund period
You may request a full refund within 14 calendar days from the day your membership contract is concluded, normally the day you receive the purchase confirmation. We offer this refund even if you have logged in, started a course, completed activities, saved course entries, downloaded materials or generated a certificate during that period.
The 14-day commercial refund applies to the first payment of a new membership. It does not automatically apply again to each recurring renewal payment. This does not limit any right you have under mandatory law.
3. How to request a refund or withdraw
Send an unambiguous request before the 14-day period ends to admin@humanrightscareers.com. Include the email address used for the Academy account and enough information for us to identify the payment. You may simply write: “I withdraw from my Academy membership and request a refund.”
You may also send the request by post to Human Rights Careers e.U., Breitenfeldergasse 6-8/1/23, 1080 Vienna, Austria. The deadline is met if you send the request before the 14-day period expires.
4. What happens after a valid request
We will cancel the membership, end access to paid Academy content and reimburse the eligible payment without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive the withdrawal or refund request. We will normally use the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless we expressly agree otherwise. We will not charge a refund fee.
Before requesting a refund, download any workbook, toolkit, certificate or other learner-created material you want to keep. Access to paid content and export features may end when the refund is processed. Account and learning-data deletion is handled separately under the Privacy Policy.
5. Cancellations and renewals
Academy memberships renew automatically at the billing interval shown at checkout until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account, where that option is available, or by emailing admin@humanrightscareers.com. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. You retain access until then.
After the initial 14-day period, we do not normally provide full or partial refunds for unused time, incomplete courses, failure to cancel before a renewal, or a change of mind. If you believe a renewal was charged after a timely cancellation, a payment was duplicated, or a technical fault materially prevented access, contact us and we will investigate.
6. Statutory withdrawal rights
If you are an EU/EEA consumer, you generally have the right to withdraw from an online service contract within 14 days without giving a reason. Our commercial policy is intended to make that right simple and, during the initial 14-day period, more generous by providing a full refund even where you have already started using the Academy.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts mandatory consumer rights. If the law in your country gives you a longer period or stronger remedy, that law continues to apply.
